I work at the intersection of theory and practice. Focusing on helping teachers and students become more powerful and passionate readers, writers, and critical thinkers, I innovate curriculum, demonstrate practical pedagogies, and inspire confidence.

Much of my time now is spent helping teachers document what they are doing so others can learn as well - pedagogical moves that affirm students identities and foster engagement, classrooom structures that create communities of care and belonging, curriculum that leads students to outgrow their thinking, raise their voices, build knowledge fiercely. ​
